Motorcycle update:
"Nancy Savery here - Doug's (class '61) wife. I don't know exactly what you're looking for but: Doug took his big black & silver Honda Valkyrie motorcycle on a trip to the Black Hills Sept 12-17, along with a MC'ing buddy. He only got into motorcycles about 8 yrs ago - really surprised me! Must be one of those "bucket list" things! Ha!
Some quickie news updates:
John Heiman '61 wants everyone to know he's sold his jewelry story and has retired. He plans on splitting his time between his condo in Cape Coral, FL and home in Loveland, CO. Would like to hear from his class mates!

Class of '64 Reunion. September 18th & 19th. Friday nite at original Valentinos at 6:30. Saturday at the Ridge, 6:30.Sheriff Rod will be there!(Rod is in a movie production being filmed in DesMoines, with a speaking part, no less!)

Getha "Shorty" Titzell, our 100 year-old alum star of the 2005 reunion banquet video, passed away peacefully at her home August 28th at age 104.

Here are some pictures from the 2008 gathering. We (Marion Rickert-Thorpe, Dick Reddish and I) hosted a cocktail party on Thursday before the scheduled functions. It was for the class of 1956 and friends! The slide show then progresses to Friday night at the dorm, and then the "hall party" that followed. The end of the slideshow are pictures from the banquet.

We (Annette & I) just sent out 1200 postcards announcing the website to the Tutor's mailing list Allen Hurlbert and Lynn Youngquist were the first to receive the cards and sign up. Welcome!

Bob Mercier
I was just trying to notify your group that Bob passed away on the 16th, the funeral is tomorrow. (Sat. 20th) I'll always remember the year he was emcee for the all schools reunion at the Cornhusker, wish I could remember which year that was. Bob was in the class of '49, and originally thought he was going to be emcee for his class reunion, and here it was for all three University associated high schools - it was wonderful to be there.
Bob is in the arms of his dear Lord and we are happy for him, but we are surely sad for ourselves. TCHS was important to him, playing basketball, the great friends, etc.

More in the Video Gallery--Tom Bouse's video of the 2008 reunion, Dr. Seagren talks about dress code, Orlan Thomas remembers the first Marching Band Festival competitions, Mary Bovey Blumentstock recalls first days at the new University High 1955, and Lettie Kutcher-Dugger recalls her Teacher's College High experiences during the depression. Then of course there is the full video of the 1966 marching band competing in Pershing Auditorium.
